My mother is coming to visit me.

We are going to have a fantastic birthday.

I think maybe we will go see the Redwoods, because she likes them so much, they scare me, but lately they don’t seem so scary.

Or we could go into the city and see the botanical gardens, and the Asian Art Museum, one of my all time favorite things, or we could go to the symphony, or not, no that is pushing my luck.

Maybe we could go to a movie so we didn’t have to talk to each other and could just sit and watch a movie.

We should definetly go to my favorite bakery and have a delicious cuppa coffee. We can walk around town like nobody’s business, and if I run into anyone I know I will just say hello there, this is my mother, and how do you do and good bye and if they have already met my adoptive mother they can scratch their head and we will walk on whistling.

We will have a wonderful lemon flavored cake because that is my favorite, I actually don’t like cake much but I will bake us one from scratch him proper cake flour and baker’s sugar, and nothing stale and gross from a mix.

Or maybe we can all go to Tomtom’s favorite restaurant and he can have a chocolate torte like he likes and we can laugh and feel very sophisticated, because it is very sophisticated. And then Tomtom can smile and shake his head at us, and later tell me that we are both very spacy, and he think it dilutes with each passing generation, making him the least spacy, or how we both laugh when nothing is funny.

We tend to do really well in person, we get wrestling and emo on the phone or in letters.

Which makes visiting hard.

It will be fun, we deserve some fun, early and mid and most reunion has been more like this:

bad movie

Yes, we do know how to have fun. We’re still learning to integrate our emo eruptions but I think more face to face is good for reality checking. I like all your ideas, except the movie would have to be a REALLY good one …

BTW there is ALWAYS something funny, if you adjust your focus.
